Activity level is listed on each of our photo tour pages. These categories are used to describe what you can expect on our tours.
Light – Most photography will be done along roadsides, at feeders, or on relatively flat and well-maintained trails. Many of the days on our easy tours will involve just a little walking/hiking with minimal carrying of gear.
Moderate – While some photo ops will be along roadsides and on relatively flat and well-maintained trails, some of our days will involve walking trails with elevation change, mud, and/or trails that are less well-maintained. Be prepared to carry your gear for short walks on sometimes uneven ground.
Strenuous –Expect long or somewhat difficult walking while carrying gear over uneven terrain, such as tundra. Be prepared for activities such as laying on the ground, wading into ponds and crawling towards subjects. The above activities are of course optional, and participants will still have many opportunities even if you decide to not engage in the most strenuous of activities. Feel free to contact us for more details if you are unsure if a tour is right for you.
You might notice two activity levels listed for a single tour. On these tours there will be days that fit both categories. Each evening during the tour we will go over the activities for the following day to allow you to always be properly prepared.
