A visit to a private ranch will allow us to focus on getting incredible shots of hard to photograph species like Yellow-billed Magpie, Band-tailed Pigeon, Nuttall’s Woodpecker, California Scrub-Jay and California Quail! The group will photograph from blinds and will work on various techniques to capture exquisite images of these highly sought after species.

We will be vising to the coast to photograph shorebirds, waders, and gulls after our time at the ranch. With up to 12 species of shorebirds in the area, including Snowy Plovers, Long-billed Curlews, and Marbled Godwits, we should have plenty of opportunities to make great images! Special focus will be given to capturing unique images and working on techniques like backlighting.

Sabrewing Nature Tours photography workshops provide an immersive photography experience in a small group setting with less time commitment than our full-length tours. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from our professional guides in the field and during one-on-one sessions. Our photography workshops focus on quality over quantity, with incredible species in exciting destinations.
