This is a birding tour, designed to see as many bird species as possible, with special focus on specialty species.
Uganda has long been known as a Mountain Gorilla tracking destination for tourists. But more recently, birders have discovered this beautiful country as a wonderful locale to see amazing birds, too! This tour will take you to several of Uganda’s best-known national parks to see both hundreds of bird species and highly sought-after safari animals.
This tour will start off with a bang as we spend our first morning searching for the highly sought-after Shoebill at Mabamba Swamp. From there we will continue on to many of Uganda’s incredible National Parks including Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and Mburo. In addition to an amazing number of bird highlights, we will also focus on the wonderful mammals in this part of Africa including Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees. Our bird list will be long and will include an incredible diversity of species. This tour is designed to stay at upscale lodges in or near the national parks which results in outstanding accommodations and food throughout the tour.
