This is a birding tour, designed to see as many bird species as possible, with special focus on specialty species.

Discover why Uganda is known as the Pearl of Africa on this extraordinary birding and wildlife adventure through one of the most biologically diverse countries on Earth. Beginning in Entebbe and traveling through Uganda’s premier national parks, this tour is designed for nature enthusiasts who want to experience an exceptional diversity of birds while also encountering Africa’s iconic mammals in spectacular natural settings.

Our journey starts with a search for the legendary Shoebill in the papyrus channels of Mabamba Swamp before continuing to renowned destinations including Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and Lake Mburo. Along the way, participants will explore wetlands, savannas, forests, and montane habitats that support hundreds of bird species, including many sought-after East African specialties and Albertine Rift endemics.

Uganda offers far more than world-class birding. This tour also provides unforgettable opportunities to encounter Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi, track wild Chimpanzees in Kibale, and observe elephants, buffalo, hippos, antelope, and other classic African wildlife during game drives and boat excursions. The combination of exceptional bird diversity and remarkable mammal viewing makes Uganda one of the continent’s most rewarding natural history destinations.

Throughout the tour, guests enjoy comfortable accommodations in carefully selected upscale lodges located in or near the national parks, along with excellent local cuisine and expert guiding from Sabrewing Nature Tours. With a small group size and a thoughtfully crafted itinerary, this tour delivers an immersive, once-in-a-lifetime experience that showcases the very best of East Africa’s birds, wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes.
