Many birders make an annual winter trip to the Rio Grande Valley to see all of the valley specialties as well as any rarities that arrive from farther south. On this tour, we’ll take you to all of the phenomenal birding locations in this part of Texas. From South Padre Island all the way to Salineño, there is so much to see and enjoy. We’ll be looking for more than birds on this tour as the Rio Grande Valley is one of the best places in the United States for butterflies as well!

Highlight species on this trip could include Muscovy Duck, Least Grebe, Hook-billed Kite, White-tailed Hawk, Mountain Plover, Red-billed Pigeon, Common Pauraque, Buff-bellied Hummingbird, Ringed and Green Kingfishers, Aplomado Falcon, Great Kiskadee, Green Jay, Clay-colored Thrush, Morelet’s Seedeater, and Altamira and Audubon’s Orioles.
