This is a birding tour, designed to see as many bird species as possible, with special focus on specialty species.

This tour visits many well-known birding hotspots and lodges in the southern part of this incredible country. We will be visiting a variety of elevations and habitats which will lead to an impressive and diverse list of species. As we travel through this part of Ecuador, we will stay at some of the fantastic lodges run by the Jocotoco Foundation as well as other wonderful accommodations.

As we travel through this amazing region, we will be looking for many special species that call this area home. Highlights could include Horned Screamer, Blue-throated Hillstar (described in 2017), Pale-headed Brushfinch, Long-wattled and Amazonian Umbrellabirds, El Oro Parakeet, El Oro Tapaculo, Tumbes Swift, White-headed Brush-Finch, Tumbes Swallow, Watkin’s Antpitta, Henna-hooded and Rufous-necked Foliage-Gleaners, Gray-breasted Flycatcher, Jocotoco Antpitta, Marañon Thrush, Tit-like Dacnis, Violet-throated Metaltail, Red-rumped Bush-Tyrant, Bar-winged and Stout-billed Cinclodes, Giant Conebill, and many more!
