We’ll focus on two key endemic birds—the rare Trinidad Piping-Guan and striking Trinidad Motmot—while also enjoying up-close views of hummingbirds, toucans, trogons, manakins, and macaws. The pace is relaxed but productive, making this an ideal trip for birders of all experience levels.

Our time in Trinidad includes a visit to the world-renowned Asa Wright Nature Centre, coastal mangroves at Caroni Swamp for the evening Scarlet Ibis spectacle, and the open savannas and wetlands of Nariva. We’ll also stay along the northeast coast at Grande Riviere, home to nesting Leatherback Sea Turtles. On select nights, we’ll walk the beach in hopes of seeing these endangered giants laying eggs under the stars—a truly awe-inspiring wildlife encounter.

After six nights in Trinidad, we’ll slow things down in Tobago, where the birding is just as rewarding but the pace is even more relaxed. We’ll explore the Main Ridge Forest Reserve and take a boat trip to Little Tobago Island for nesting seabirds like Red-billed Tropicbirds and Brown Boobies. With a combination of tropical forest, coastal wetlands, island beaches, and species-rich feeders, this is the perfect introduction to birding in the Neotropics—and a memorable adventure from start to finish.
