During this exciting Costa Rica Photo tour we will visit Reserva Pacuare which hosts the only accessible breeding colony of Agami Herons in the Caribbean and northern South America. The reserve has set up a fantastic photo blind overlooking the rookery making it an ideal place to photograph this shy and secretive species. We’ll make several trip to the rookery in order to give ourselves opportunities to photograph the heron with a variety of light angles. In addition to the Agami Herons, we’ll spend some time photographing the many species along the river near our lodge including up to four species of kingfisher, Common Black Hawk, Russet-naped Wood-Rail, and more.

In addition to our time photographing the Agami Heron rookery, we’ll visit the wonderful Maquenque Lodge in the northern Caribbean. From this lodge,  we’ll visit a King Vulture blind as well as some of the best photography spots in all of Costa Rica! This tour will be full of incredible photo opportunities, including many feeder setups, that you don’t want to miss. At these wonderful feeder setups we’ll have the opportunity to photograph a variety of hummingbirds, toucans, tanagers, parrots, and much, much more.
